My Book Elite 1tb connectivity issues


I’m having some issues with my My Book Elite 1tb.  It simply is not being recognized by my laptop.  I’m running Windows 7 and up until this past weekend it was working fine.

I started up my laptop and during startup, it asked for a “data disc”.  That has never happened before, so I forced a shut down, started my computer back up, and since then the My Book hasn’t been working.  So I am assuming it has something to do with that.

I do not think it has anything to do with the power supply or usb cord (I bought a new 2.0 usb cord just to be sure).
