My book boots for 5 seconds then shuts off

my book boots for 5 seconds then shuts off,i have a lot of stuff on it that I need. It starts up as normal ,leds flashing as usual then after 5 seconds just stops,its a 2tb my book,please help

you need to check the usual culprits: plug it into the wall socket to make sure that it’s getting enough power; try it on another pc; change data cables/ports.  if all else fails get another power adapter. otherwise you’re stuck with doing some kind of data recovery, and rma’ing the drive.

If you don’t mind about warranty then take the drive out the case and see if it works, you should be able to get the data if you connect the drive your PC if the data is not encrypted.
