I have a My Book WD External backup device plugged into my laptop but can’t seem
to find out if anything has been backup up?
I never downloaded anything & just plugged it into my laptop computer…?

You probably figured it out by now, but you’ll need to download and install WD Backup (if it wasn’t already included on the drive) in order to set up and schedule backups. Otherwise, it essentially acts as an ordinary storage device should you want to manually drag & drop and save your files to it. If you don’t want to use WD Backup, you can use Backup & Restore or File History (Windows Control Panel) or a 3rd party software of your choice.
