Had the hard drive for two weeks working fine, but it now looks like it’s dead. no power no nothing! Important data on there, what’s happened? It’s as if the on-switch / powere supply has failed. Can any genius help?

You can try a different power adapter. Also try a different usb cable.
The power button is regularly located on the back of the unit.
