Moving My Essentials Drive From PC to MAC

Can I connect a My Essentials drive to my pc and copy all of my photos and movies to it and then connect it to my imac and copy the files to my iMac ?  If so, are there any downsides ?

First you need to download and install NTFS-3G from here.

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/ntfs3g.html

If your drive is already formatted to NTFS, you should see your drive in Mac.

If not, copy all the data from your drive to different location. Then format your drive to NTFS using windows PC. Be sure to select either default allocation size or 64K for faster performance.

P.S. Smartware can create certain issues.
