Ok, try this.  Swap out the setting for the Extra & Spare sheet in the Input/Output Naming, then use the Extra sheet to generate the Coverart thumbnail instead of the Spare sheet.

So that you will have:

Extra moviesheet:  $M$N   .png

Spare moviesheet:  $M$N_sheet2   .jpg

This should allow you to add diffenent backdrops to the Main and Spare sheet.
