I can only thank the intelligent and patient members of these forums for putting up with my questions.

Apparently I can’t media scrape a NAS.  Can I attach a USB full of TV programmes to the WDTV, media scrape it, then transfer the files to the NAS?  Will the ‘scraped’ informatuon appear?

Yes.

Yes and No.   Just tried it … The thumbnail, main picture, background picture and actors list is shown correctly, but the plot information is stuck on one line and screams by like a train going past the station without stopping.
