MKV Files not playing

Hi All

I only bought the latest WDTV Live Streaming player a couple of days ago and so far I am impressed however when I went to play a couple of MKV files last night it and it refused. I am a bit lost as to why this is happening can somebody shed some light on it?

I have included below the media info output for the 2 files to help.

I may be way off base here, but I don’t know if HE-AAC audio is supported.

Compare this to your MKVs that DO play.

Well, as Tony stated, HE-ACC is not supported. I actually try to play few movies with this code and I got the no supported file message.

Edit: I try several of this files and the result was mixed, 95% of the movies with this code did not work, others played, but with weird audio playback.

Thanks for taking the time to review the question and the data. In simple terms what is the easiest way for me to re-encode these with a suitable audio format?

Well, mkvmerge is one software that you can use.

Personally, I use several software, including Ultra-Video converter, this last one I like it because is easy to use.

Hola ,

Leyendo en este foro os encontre a vosotros para aclararme un problema que tengo con mi streaming con solo 2 dias resulta que la mayoria de los archivos MKV de 4 o 5 gigas se me congela la imagen entre el minuto 0 y el minuto 30 y me sale este mensaje:(Expulse el dispositivo USB antes de quitarlo. Elija una nueva fuente de contenido porque la fuente de contenido original se ha desconectado).y tengo que reiniciar para poder ver otro tipo de archivo.

Estoy desesperado y no se que hacer , no se si sera problema de firware o del reproductor.

A ver si me echais una mano.

Muchos ususarios han reportado problemas con el firmware más nuevo (1.04.12) al reproducir archivos MKV de alta calidad. Unos solucionarion el problema regresándose al firmware anterior (1.03.10); pero, por desgracia, este firmware ya no está disponible, debido a que se descubrieron problemas al regresarse a él.

No todo está perdido, ya que algunos usuarios han reportado éxito para resolver este problema desactivando la opción de “Network Share Server” (Servidor Compartido Red). Tal vez te funcione.

Many users have reported problems with the newest firmware (1.04.12) when playing high-quality MKV files. Some of them solved the problem by rolling back to the previous firmware (1.03.10); but, unforunately, this firmware is no longer available, because problems when reverting back to it were discovered.

Not all is lost, since some users have reported success in resolving this problem by deactivating the “Network Share Server” option. It may work for you.
