In over my head here. Just my my new 4TB My Passport drive and plugged it in. Immediately noticed that it had copied quite a few files and put them into the Recycle bin on the external drive. I only want this drive for fast storage of big (multi-Gig) data files. Not for saving any other files. Anyway, I tried to delete the programs already on the hard drive that were getting in the way of storage of only certain files.
Now, the drive is doesn’t show up in System Manager. It was missing a couple of drivers one of which I found and installed. The remaining problem seems to be the SM Bus Controller.
Does anyone know how to restore what the drive needs to function?
