Can you connect a iomega minimax (3-Port USB HUB)?
The manual says “The WD TV HD Media Player does not support USB hubs.”

I did try connect USB hub and had no luck. Looks WD USB ports are not capable of powering on USB drives using USB HUB. I connected two seagate portable HDD to USB and tried , have no luck
