Mdadm: md device /dev/md2 does not appear to be active

Hi. I am new to this so please be patient with me.

I have the error ‘mdadm: md device /dev/md2 does not appear to be active’ after installing the latest firmware into MyBook World 2 (white light edition). I can enter admin/admin into the NAS but cannot go any further.

Are there any suggestions to get the drives ‘back’ or is this terminal??

If I were you, I’d give a call to WD on this one… Or replace it.

Hi thanks for that. Yes I have been sent a RMA to return the NAS for a replacement.

The update to the latest firmware installed but somehow appeared to scramble the RAID from mirror to scan and must have corrupted md2. I could not recover the software or reconfigure the NAS. The support team suggested that a replacement was required.
