MCM not showing up on my router

I have a netgear R7000 router and a MCM 8TB. I’ve had this setup for years and have always had a reserved IP address for the MCM. Recently I’ve been losing the connection to the MCM.
If I unplug the Ethernet cable the light on my router goes out but the MCM doesn’t throw an error light that it has no connection.
A reboot of the MCM will fix this but that is annoying. Maybe I’m getting the error when the MCM goes to sleep.
Any ideas?
