Making Acronis Backup Images.....User Manual Lousy

I’m using Win7/64 Home Premium and Acronis WD Edition 2010.  The User Manual appears written for another version of Acronis…does the WD Edition only do full image backups?

  1. I created a full backup; subsequent backups are supposed to be incremental, but judging by the time they take (~40 minutes, like the first one), they appear to be brand new full backups as well.  Does this version of ATI really do incremental backups?  

  2. My first full backup (hopefully a complete image!) was one 40GB file. Subsequent backups are two 20GB files, with no apparent connection or relationship between them (just numbered 1 and 2).  Did I push a button somewhere that I shouldn’t have?  The dialog/settings screens are very ambiguous.  

What the heck is going on?

Well for starters this is based on Acronis TI 2009 and is intended mainly for cloning internal drives. This is not a full feature version so I don’t think it does incremental backups. I use the paid version of Acronis 2010.
