Major delay showing large amount of photos

I currently have around 140,000 photos I have taken on a WD 320 gig portable

drive formated HFS (no journaling, Media Liibrary enabled)

browsing to Photos/All photos shows them fine, the problem

is that when I start to play them, the screen blanks, and there is a delay of 20-50

seconds before it plays the first photo, and a random delay of that time between

photos, during that time there is no drive activity, and remote does not work. This is

with no music playing, photos set to shuffle / loop all.

Can the WD not handle this many items ?

Should I try a different format on the drive ?

Have you tried contacting WD’s Technical Support about this? You can do so either by phone or email.
