So I just updated the software on my computer for a “WD Essential” backup drive. After the final step of the update, the follow-along box directed me to restart my computer. Afterwards, when I plug my Backup Drive into the computer, the computer failed to recognize it. There is no indication that it is attached. No icon appears and the finder does not display the drive as connected. Anybody know what to do about this?
Be sure to connect the USB cable directly to the Mac. Also follow the instructions on the link below for the steps to open the disk utility app, from there you can verify if the drive is recognized there.
