Mac WD Security and WD Drive Utilities quit unexpectedly

When I try to bring up the applications WD Security or WD Drive I get the message WD Security quit unexpectedly. A Report is generated and it asks me if I want to send it Apple. I can’t get the applications up. My “My Book” drive is unusable because it has a password. This just started happening on Mac OS 10.13.6 and I haven’t made any changes to the disk or the software (although it is possible that Mac OS was upgraded from 10.13.5 to 10.13.6 at some point without me remembering, but if it was done it was not done in the past 30 days. It’s also possible that I haven’t had to enter a password for the disc drive in the past 30 days.

Hi fuzzylogic0208,

Please try to re-install the WD Security and check if the issue still persist.

Hi Alex.s

I uninstalled WD Security and WD Drive Utilities and then downloaded the two utilities from the Download website, https://support.wdc.com/downloads.aspx?lang=en. I downloaded the utilities, reinstalled them and then clicked on them and I got the same message, “WD Security quit unexpectedly” and “WD Drive Utilities quit unexpectedly”. I have include a grab screen of the message, a copy of the web page of the download instructions, and I am attaching the crash reports.
