Installed a WD5000 into a 2006 Intel imac(OS X.6.8) and worked fine for a couple of months. Tried to switch computer on the other day and just got Apple logo and spinning dial. Tried to install from dvd and various other ways but nothing would work. Took the WD5000 drive out and reinstalled the older drive. It worked fine. Took the WD5000 to computer shop where they tested it and they say the drive works fine. Reinstalled it but same problem. Reinstalled old drive, works fine. Any ideas?

As a recommendation, check the specifications of the computer that you are trying to install the WD Drive and make sure that they are compatible.
Can you please provide the Community with the correct Model of the drive?
