Mac External Hard Drive

Moring all

i am looking into buying a WDTV Live but i am running on a macbook pro, but all my files (movies and music) is on a external hard drive formatted for mac.

will the WDTV Live read a mac formatted hard drive?

Sorry if this has been answered before, i had a little search but couldnt find anything.

Yes, assuming the drive is formatted as HFS+, which is the default if you formatted it with Disk Utility.  If you want to use the “Media Library” feature of the WD, you will have to turn off journaling for the drive, which you can do in Disk Utility without reformatting or disturbing the contents.  Then you are good to go.
