Occasionally I will view backed up files in My Book sub-directories. Today I noticed that I have over 100 empty files with names that look like passwords, i.e., db6343f5d98f6fa63c3791ff1f92355. Three or four on the 100+ had a single executable file in them, i.e., MpMiniSigStub.exe.
Where did these files come from and is it safe to erase them?

Where did you copy this files from ? This might be in some cases an update pending from Microsoft if the files were copied from a windows computer.
