If I connect a My Cloud drive to the ether net plug on my computer can I use the drive as a local drive?

Not exactly, but sort of. It will be available.

And it will still be a NAS but will not be seen or available on your network (as will your computer be not connected to your network). Do you have a specific reason for wanting to do this?
