Local but not cloud storage

I just purchased a MyCloud and am setting it up.

I would like to set up folders that are accessible on the local network - via Windows Map function - but are never exposed to the internet even with a password. Is that possible?

If you have not read the My Cloud User Manual (http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/?id=439&type=25) you should. It explains how to configure the MY Cloud, setup public and private Shares, setup Users and how to enable or disable remote access. Also see the My Cloud Dashboard Help.

If you do not plan on using the remote access feature of the My Cloud then you can disable it in the WD My Cloud Dashboard > Settings. Otherwise if you do need remote access then setup a User, grant them remote access, but configure the Share to Private and then configure that User’s permission level to No Access. They’ll still see the Private Share but will be unable to access its contents.
