Live Plus not playing some AVI files

Most AVI files I have playback just fine on my Live Plus.  Several AVI files do not and I get an error about the format not being supported.  Examining the codec information for both a working AVI and a not-working AVI, I’m not seeing any differences that would cause this problems.  I’m posting this here in hopes that someone else can spot what I may be missing.  If both files are in fact compatible with the Live Plus…what else could be causing the issue??

The only differences I see are: in General the Writing Application is different; in Video also the Writing Library is different, and in Audio the Writing Library and Encoding Settings are not present in the working AVI.  You may try reencoding your non-working AVI files.

Re-Encoding seemed to fix the issue.  Then  I ran into another AVI (whose formats contained in it were compatible with the live plus) but instead of re-encoding, I simply moved the file (/mediastorage/TV/someTVshow.avi) to another subfolder (/mediastorage/stupidfilesnoplay) that I created to track files that were not playing.  After dropping the file in the new subfolder, the live plus was able to play it.

I don’t see how it’s a folder permissions issue (somehow)  since MANY other files are in the folder (/mediastorage/TV) and have always worked.

Any thoughts??
