Linux raid autodetect Partition 1 does not start on physical sector boundary

My WDSHARESPACE device’s RAID failed. The hard drives themselves seem okay. I am now following some lists and suggestions on how to rebuild the RAID. Mostly following this post.

I suspect I need a little more hand holding as I’m nervous about destroying the data.

When I fdisk -l, 3 of my drives have a note like the note in the subject line, and each partition has a similar note. The fourth drive has no such information attached to it.

Is this something I should be concerned about?

Thanks

Brendon

This is a delicate procedure… My recommendation is to get assistance from a professional from a Data Recovery company. Information might get totally lost.

I’ve seen this before myself and ignored it without a problem. It’s not really something that you need to worry about in terms of recovering your data.

As I understand it not starting on a physical sector boundry may affect performance somewhat. But that’s the least of your troubles now.
