Large amount of physical memory used by wdfme.exe program Windows 7

Hi

Running Windows 7 and WD SmartWare 1.5.1.6 for a Passport. Whilst leaving the computer on and inactive for any time the amount of physical memory used by the wdfme.exe program goes from 80,000KB to 1.8GB causing the computer to lock up due to 95%  physical memory usage. As soon as I end wdfme.exe physical memory usage goes back to 25%. Anyone got a link to a solution to this problem?

So there is no WD solution to a problem that seems to be growing amongst WD users operating Windows 7. WD software is useless if this problem cannot be solved as constant backup is not possible due to massive physical memory usage locking up the computer.
