Maybe something like this with NTLMv1 or smb.conf:
@Jenvar NTLMv1 is not available on the current firmware version of OS 5.
Adding ntlm auth = yes to the smb.conf file can be used as a workaround for now.

I will like to put down here my findings about this issue. I recently upgraded my WD (used as Backup unit) and I encounter an issue with my backups not working.
