I have two WD Red 4tb in JBOD. I would like to add two 1TB WD Black drives full of files from my old PC in the two remaining bays. Will the EX4100 reformat those drives so that I lose all their data, or will I be able to read the old drives as-is once they are added to the JBOD? Thanks.

You should be able to add the new drive to the unit and when you are setting up the drive, you will need select on the options to create a new volume and it will add the new drive to the unit without formatting the existing drives.
Please be aware this will format the new drives. Sadly…
You can’t add to an existing JBOD. You can only add net new.
