Java 7 update 45 vs 51 on Windows 8

I have Java 7 update 45 installed on my Windows 8 machine, If I try to access My Cloud via the web it wants me to install version 51, whichI do not want, version 51 causes problems in other areas.

So my question is, how do I get around the upgrade notification?

There is a configure Java program option in the java folder where the program was installed. Change the “notify me” to _ before download _, and remove the tick from the box “check for updates automatically”.

On my machine it is “C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\javacpl.exe”

If you have installed the latest upgrade, you need to do this before removing java via the control panel otherwise even when you load the earlier version it will immediately update itself again to the latest version. It seems to remember this even after java is removed.
