My mycloud is no longer being recognized and I have tons of music and movies on it. This is a 3Tb that is pretty new (in the scope of tech) and now It is useless as well as my data being inaccessible. Help!!!

Have you tried a reset and/or power cycle?
is this the single driver personal mycloud? the reason I ask is alternating red & white is not a defined mode. if the reboot suggested above dosn’t work then contack WD support. a white flasing LED could stay on for a very long time after the reboot depending on the drive space.
always have at lease 2 copies of any files you care about, ideally at least 3 with one off site
