I thinks in this moment no newest firmware it’s necessary… all actually codec it’s correctly supported (according to original manual)… there exist another my thread for this speak about.

but I don´t expect new firmwares
It still needs some twists. For example, the display of movie information could be better. They should be able to link movie name and get IMDB poster and information on it. It is called attentive-to-detals.
I think if wdtv play has a more powerful hardware than the wdtv streaming hardware, everything can improve…
