I am adding this product w/8 cameras to my new home construction, I am running Cat5 cable thru out house but wondered should I run a dedicated line to my main hub for VPN hardware or just run a cat5 cable to the back of my wireless router in main room (this is new construction so easy to do now vs later)
If you have the option I would suggest a home run back to the main router is case of latency issues or other issues.
I am not 100% sure, but I will recommend connecting your cameras directly to the central hub. From my perspective, this will be a safer and a better option rather than attaching it via your wireless router. But this is just my advice, as I am not a professional in this field. So I recommend you analyze the Telecom Industry more, so you can be sure that the connection will work smoothly. Hope you will manage to connect your cameras.
