Internal storage

I bought the EX4100 with 40T but only 29T is showing… Where are the rest of it ?

Hi,

This is to inform you that all 4-Bay Personal Cloud, Network Attached Storage devices come pre-configured with RAID 5 by default.

Ok but I’m losing 10T with this configuration… How do I maximize my storage ? What raid would be safe to use ?

We suggest you to change RAID mode into JBOD, which stands for Just a Bunch of Disks or Just a Bunch of Drives, is a storage architecture consisting of numerous disk drives inside of a single storage enclosure.

JBOD- features
“just-a-bunch-of-disks”
Each drive can be accessed as an individual volume
No-fault tolerance
Audio applications, General Usage

The instructions in the article below are designed to help change the RAID on a My Cloud or Network Attached Storage device. This process is Data Destructive and cannot be undone. Once the process begins, ALL THE DATA ON THE DRIVE WILL BE LOST!
