If I install My DLNA i will lose my warranty?

Hello, if I install other softwares on my book live, I will lose the warranty?

Example here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7K9WYeFaF24#t=267 I can install it?

Mihai04,

Any modification not authorized and supported by Western Digital can void your warranty.

And what it’s authorized and supported?

I need to pay 20$ for a Twonky server, why i should pay if i found another open source player?

Only official firmware releases and official Western Digital patches available in WD’s support site and knowledgebase ( http://support.wdc.com/ ) are authorized and supported. Other modifications that involve replacing system files and/or SSH can void the unit’s warranty.

At this moment, WD only supports two DLNA servers, which you are able to change at will depending on the production revision of your WD My Book Live Personal Cloud Storage unit.

I installed  WD’s DLNA Media Server,  it’s better then Twoonky, it’s plays MKV and load subtitles.

Thanks.

I did install DLNA but media player (WD TV Live) would list files but would not play them. Circle is goin on and on and nothing happens, so I swich back to Twonky.

Can you tell me the way? i bought MBL two days ago and i can’t play subtitles, just mkv. the files have some name and they are in same folder. thanks.
