I’m using the built in app IceCast to stream some music around my home, and even planet if I want too.
The only problem with streaming 24/7 is that one HDD is constantly being used to read the music files. This will add wear and tear to the drive and it will fail sooner than expected.
So I added an old 120GB SSD via USB and copied my music to that, only to find that the IceCast installation won’t use SSD because it’s not a part of the RAID system.
Please enable IceCast to read from USB drives in a future update, it’d be a big help.
