I get the message: "Cannot connect to this network" and it disconnects my wifi

The My Passport Wireless Pro shows up as one of the available connections, but when I try to connect to it, it disconnects my regular wifi router connection and then gives me the message “Cannot connect to this network”. Any suggestions? I have tried the reset route with no luck.
