i have the same problem. i thought i would be able to use this without the software like it says i can with my mac, and i followed the step by step directions that the website gave me… and im getting this same error. Why does WD [deleted] ? im never coming back and im definately gunna try and trash its rep
You can use the drive without SmartWare. What step by step directions were you trying to do? And what does the error say? What drive are you using (model number)? Have you tried getting help with this from WD’s Tech Support?
