I can see photos and videos exist on the external hard drive but cannot access

I have a WD External hard drive that I’m able to login and see there are files, but I cannot access. Any ideas?

What message do you see when you try to access your files? Could it be a permissions issue? If so, then you would need to “take ownership” of the files.
