i bought a WD my book studio 800 fw 1TB , but it didn’t  work.

and i have a XP WINDOWS

.it’s connecting by usb. but when i go to “my computer” i can’t see him. and on  Device Manager  i can see a error  of  WD SES DEVICE USB DEVICE. when i connect my hard disc my system xp is Reports me ubout new hardware BUT this is all…

pleaseeeee helpeeeeee meeee

The My Book Studio comes formatted for Mac. To use on windows you will need to reformat NTFS http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3865

Yes but you will have to install software on Mac. Are you trying to use this on both Mac and Windows? If so  look at this post http://community.wdc.com/t5/External-Drives-for-Mac/Using-My-Passport-back-and-forth-between-a-Mac-and-PC-help/td-p/109664 I think you will need to format NTFS then download the NTFS-3G and install on Mac. Then it should work on both.
