I AM SO FRUSTRATED. Firewire no longer works

I recently bought a My Book Studio LX External Hard Drive (3TB) and neither firewire 800 or 400 works with the drive anymore, using my Macbook Pro. It was working sporadically, now it just plain doesn’t work ever. I just get  a message saying the disk can’t be read. My other firewire drives work fine (different brands). I thought Western Digital was a good brand, but I am very dissapointed. I feel completely ripped off, as I spent $200 on this worthless drive. 

If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great, but I am ready to throw this thing out the window.

Did you replace the cables? If so, and still not working you will need to contact WD for replacement. You can do so either by phone or email.
