My windows 10 lap top was stolen a few weeks after I purchased a passport ultra 2TB and backed it up. I am now trying to restore my backup data to a replacement laptop, and can’t get the included software to “see” my backup from the other computer. I checked using windows explorer, and can see the August backup. Any suggestions on how to restore my backed up data?

You need to use the same software that you were using on the old computer to restore the files on the new one.
If you are not using the same software, check on the WD support page to download the correct one.
I used the same software which was included on the passport. This is the software that won’t let me select the data archived from the first computer.
Does the HD Backup software check the machine id to determine which backups to make available when you launch the software?
