I use eight 4GB My Book USB HDs. Each two of them have identical data wich I mirror manualy for security reasons. Obviously thats time consuming and I like to replace the HDs with four "My Book Duos" which I would like to run in RAID 1. But Ive noticed that in case of an Harware failure (I mean of the My Book controller, not the HDs) I will not be able to read the HDs in an PC because of encryption. Is there a software available to make the HD`s readable in an PC?
Hello, as far as I know is not possible, however as this drive is not good for your solution, you might want to check on the My Cloud Mirror or the EX and DL series of the My Cloud products.
