How to get the initial backup started

This may be a dumb question but how to I get my initial backup started? The software has categorized the drive and the status is “Ready to perform backup”. The run backup button is pressed and I have been waiting for over an hour for the backup to start. Is there another switch I must set to start the backup.

I have the same question, although I am running mine on a Mac. It’s read all the files, and looks ready to back up the drive, but I have been sitting here for half an hour and it has not started. Would really appreciate some help here.

i installed the essential today and after watching the drive flash for 3 hours it seems it hasn’t done a thing.  Also, It never installed an icon anywhere.  TIA!
