Hi Almoiad,

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this.

The link below will allow you to call support.

I did, the reply was awesome:

Thank you for contacting Western Digital Customer Service and Support. My name is Chloé.

We are sorry to inform you that the softwares that you are looking for are ont supported any more since they did not been Updated since 2004.

The my book premium is a legacy product since 2010, and we do not support those softwares anymore, as the drives works only with old operational system :

Windows ® Macintosh ® • Available USB or FireWire port • Available USB or FireWire port • Windows 2000/XP • Mac® OS X 10.3, and they are not supported anymore even by Microsoft and Apple.

As far as I can recall there was no “reset to factory default” setting on this drive as this is a USB device. The closest thing would be to reformat the drive (on a supported operating system of course) which would wipe everything out and set it to a configuration similar to how we shipped it.

EDIT: After discussing with a former technical support agent from that era, this drive needed the RAID manager software in order to format the drive. This software most likely won’t work on a modern version of the OS.

You can find all the software for the drive at the link below:

My suggestion would be to try the drive on an older OS listed as supported by the software.

Finally, I made it!

WD Drive Manager is working in windows operation system, while I was stuck in mac operation system with no progress.

Thank you all
