How to copy files from macbook to wd 1tb hard drive

everytime i try to drag files from my macbbok into the wd hard drive folder it wont let me but it lets me drag files from the portable hard drive folder to the macbbook desktop can some one help me and i dont wont to do the back up way cause it just takes to long. So is there a way to just drag it in on mac book?? i know i can do it on windows xp and vista…

in windows you have to map the drive.  don’t you have to do the same thing on the mac?  I don’t think you can just drag and drop files on to the drive.

Yes you can drag and drop files from your Mac to WD.First you have to access your WD trough web browser, Safari for example,click on “Show all bookmarks” button and you will see under the collections “Bonjour”,click on it and you will see your WD disk. Now follow the instruction in manual. The main thing is to grant access under the “Users” for your Mac and when you do that (read and write access) you can simple drag and drop any files  from your Mac to WD, very simple :slight_smile:
