How to connect two My Book World Edition Drives

I connected my two 1 tb drives to each other via the usb cable, nothing was picked up in the share drive manager. The user manual says "

My Book automatically detects the external USB drive. Information about the USB

drive is displayed under System Summary in the Shared Storage Manager".

Can’t you connect them together or do yuhave to use another WD product such as a passport drive?

I don’t see how connecting them via USB would work.  You would need to connect each to the router and access them via the network.  These aren’t USB disks, they are NAS devices.  Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

yes thats what I ended up doing but I just wondered if drive 1 would see drive 2 as just another usb drive, guess I have my answer.
