HOw to connect my MPW to an android tablet with cable

I’m trying to figure out a perfect flow for photographers. Every picture I take with my camera is app. 40Mb in size and wireless transfer will take a lot of time.

I want to be able to edit those files on my android tablet (Samsung Tab S) and it would be cool if I could connect the MPW to the tablet with a cable.

I already have the needed OTG cable to connect the two devices, and have installed ES File Explorer.

But…and this is my question…ES File Explorer cant connect to/find the MPW??

How come ? What should I do ?

Welcome to the Community.

I am not aware if ES File Explorer will do what you are expecting. First, your tablet would need to feed enough power to your WD Passport Wireless over USB, and second, it would need to support the file system your hard drive is currently using. Very few Android devices support NTFS.

Hi and thanks.

I was told that the MPW with battery would not need power from the tablet.

The tablet can find USB memory sticks,

Whoever told you that is incorrect.  The battery is only used when it’s in Wireless mode.  When it’s in Disk mode (USB-attached to a host) the host must power it.

USB Memory sticks are powered by the tablet.
