Can any one please advise how I can backup my cloud personal to my window computer via the network cable?
If you haven’t done so already, I would suggest you start by reading the My Cloud User Manual (https://support.wdc.com/product.aspx?ID=904). It explains how to setup and use the My Cloud and it’s features. Including how to use Windows File Explorer or Mac Finder to access the My Cloud to copy files to/from the device.
The My Cloud is generally designed to be connected to the local network router via Ethernet cable.
The My Cloud includes an option (Safepoint / Backup) in the My Cloud Dashboard to backup it’s contents to a USB hard drive attached to the My Cloud USB port.
One can use Windows File Explorer or Mac Finder to copy files to or from the My Cloud. One can use third party backup or sync programs to copy files from the My Cloud to another location. For example I use Free File Sync (https://freefilesync.org/) to copy the contents (Shares) of the My Cloud to another location.
