Bought new ‘blue’ 2T passport. In past, I was simply able to drag files from my MAC and drop them in and they would backup (I have several older WD passports); this one doesn’t allow me to do that. Anything I’m doing wrong? Thanks!!!
There are many different “blue” versions of the WD My Passport portable hard drive family. The model number would allow you to properly identify your particular unit.
Depending on your unit’s generation it may be factory-formatted as NTFS, which is optimized for Windows and read-only on Mac until formatted again. Instructions are available in the following link:
