How do i connect my 2TB mybook essential to my TV?

i tried to connect it with the usb cord that it came with and my fairly new sony just doesn’t recognize it. do i just need a different cord?

Confirm with the TV manufacture that the TV support a 2 TB drive. If it does, you should have any issues this passport units are plug and play.
