How are 2.5 OEM?packaged?

I bought a WD5000LPCX of amazon in Germany. It cam in a anti-static bag but the opening was sealed with a “warranty seal” sticker and not sealed tight.

Can people comment what is original and what is not comming straight from the western digital factory?

@Ezio, OEM drives are sold to computer manufacturers or distributors in bulk packaging (bare drive only), and do not contain a warranty from Western Digital

Please visit the “How to identify genuine WD prime hard drives” section here.

Also, To check the warranty on your current WD hard drive, please visit our warranty check page here

Wbat means ‘bare’'.

*Just the drive
*just the drive but in a antistatic holster and sealed airtight
*the drive sealed in a antistatic hokster but with a sticker and not sealed airtight? ?

Does it even digmffer between 3.5 and 2.5 drives?

as Neha_07 said … OEM drives are sold to computer manufacturers or distributors in bulk packaging

if the warranty seal sticker was not sealed tight … you need to harass the seller on Amazon Germany about that

and while we are on the subject about OEM drives …

OEM drives are sold by WD to computer manufacturers or distributors in bulk to be installed in computer systems to be sold with the 3rd party manufacturers warranty.

They should not be sold separately as bare drive only … another issue with your German Amazon seller to address.

Anyways, the drive you bought has ZERO Warranty with WD and it’s not their problem.

It’s your problem with where and who you bought it from.
