A month ago I have read that the WD Mycloud will be able to act as a home automation server using z-wave (by USB) and IP-Cameras.

When will the software add in be availible? Will it also be possible to just connect several ip cameras and use the mycloud as a central gateway unit between home network and internet?

You can use Clean Debian to build “Smart home”.

* Kernel sources available, so you can build all drivers/modules what needed for z-wave or other software.
